New York Islanders: 2 Buyout Options For 2019

The last time the New York Islanders used a buyout was 2013 when the Rick DiPietro contract finally came to an end. If the Islanders didn’t buy him out he would still be under contract for this year and one more year, which is crazy considering he signed the deal back in 2006.

It’s been six years since the last time the Islanders executed a buyout and honestly, it might not be a bad idea to reintroduce that option in 2019. Obviously, the number one choice everyone would love to buyout is Andrew Ladd.

The unfortunate part is the buyout saves the Islanders virtually nothing.
