Last Home Game At Nassau Coliseum? Islanders Hoping To Avoid Elimination Against Lightning In Game 6

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)- After suffering an uncharacteristic 8-0 loss in Game 5 on Sunday night, the Islanders find themselves with their backs against the wall as they return to Nassau Coliseum for tonight’s Game 6 trailing 3-2 in the series. A loss would mean not only elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs but a difficult goodbye to the team’s long-time home.

With the team’s new home, UBS Arena, set to open this fall, Wednesday night’s game could be the final one for fans in the old barn which has been home to the franchise for 46 of its 49 years of existence (including the 2018-20 seasons when they split games between Barclays and the Coliseum).
