Jordan Eberle's goal in second OT beats Lightning and keeps Islanders' hopes alive

The season, somehow, will continue for at least one more game.

The Islanders fought off a sluggish offense and a four-minute penalty kill that bridged the third period and first overtime for a 2-1 double overtime win over the Lightning in Tuesday night’s Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals at Rogers Place in Edmonton. The win pulled them to within 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

The Islanders, in the conference finals for the first time since 1993 and looking for their first berth in the Stanley Cup Final since 1984, will look to stave off elimination for a second straight time in Thursday night’s Game 6.
