The Islanders have signed three players to tryout contracts for training camp, which begins in mid-September: former Isles defenseman Matt Carkner, forward Tyler Barnes and goalie Parker Milner.
Carkner, 34, played 75 games for the team in 2012-13 and 2013-14. He was with Bridgeport in the AHL last season.
Barnes, 25, and Milner, 24, both played in the ECHL last season.
