The New York Islanders began the season last night without Jan Kovar on the roster.
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced their opening roster today and Jan Kováu0159 was not there, either.
Kováu0159 hadn’t been seen in Bridgeport camp after being cut this week along with Devon Toews — who reported to the farm team immediately — so we had an inkling that this might be coming.
It seems the summer signing from the KHL isn’t inclined to take this assignment to the AHL. Or at least, he’s taking time to figure out his next move, according to the team via Arthur Staple of the Athletic.
