Islanders: Thomas Greiss signs with Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings announced they have signed Thomas Greiss to a two-year deal. Greiss had a terrific five-year tenure with the New York Islanders.

There were many rumors floating around the rumor mill yesterday afternoon. One rumor was that the New York Islanders were going to trade goaltender Semyon Varlamov and re-sign unrestricted free agent Thomas Greiss.
