If I told you at the end of 2017-2018 that Thomas Greiss would be the best goalie in the league by the start of the 2019-2020 season you would've laughed in my face. Well, that's exactly the situation for the Islanders netminder.
Last year, Greiss was downright amazing posting a .927 save percentage and a 2.28 goals against average. Greiss was overshadowed by Robin Lehner, by performance and off-ice storylines, so his season went under the radar but keep in mind he was nearly just as good.
He's carried that momentum over to the 2019-2020 season through his first nine games.
