Islanders’ shutout streak ends abruptly in 5-3 loss to Wild

The Islanders made some surprising shutout history. The mystery was whether this team with most shots and goals allowed in the NHL could continue its stinginess on the scoreboard after not yielding a goal on back-to-back days for the first time since the birth of the franchise.

The mystery was solved against Minnesota Monday at Barclays Center. They could not.

The Wild went on a wild run of three goals in a span of 4:12 during the second period. Jason Zucker scored once in the second and once in the third and Devan Dubnyk made 17 of his 32 saves in the third in a 5-3 win over the Islanders.
