Islanders set to sign Jean-Gabriel Pageau to contract extension

The New York Islanders went all-in on Jean-Gabriel Pageau at the 2020 trade deadline. The former Ottawa Senators center couldn't come to an agreement with the Sens on a contract so Pierre Dorion traded him for a 2020 first-round pick, a 2020 second-round pick, and a 2022 third-round pick.

Both the first and third-round picks are conditional. The Sens will get the Islanders first in 2021 if the 2020 pick is in the top three of the draft. And the Sens only get the 2022 third-round pick if the Islanders win the Stanley Cup this year.
