WINNIPEG, Manitoba — It was a totally disjointed effort and the Islanders still managed to stick around with one of the league’s best teams.
And then they managed to beat it.
This was a gutsy performance that came to a head with a flurry in the final two minutes of regulation, the Islanders scoring two goals in a matter of 33 seconds to take a 5-4 win over the Jets on Thursday night.
Having two separate two-goal deficits, the Islanders were then down 4-3 when Casey Cizikas batted one in off the goal line to tie it with 1:46 remaining.
