Islanders Place Veteran Forward Andrew Ladd on Waivers

No sense burying the lead. The Islanders have placed Andrew Ladd on waivers. They did so in order to re-assign him to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The veteran NHL'er has been consistently sidelined with an injury and Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello wanted him to get more playing time before giving him a roster spot. An absolutely sensible move by a GM that's running this team sensibly.

Newsday's Andrew Gross was the first to report the news that the Islanders had placed the 14-year vet on waivers (with his approval).

Lou Lamoriello says #Isles will place LW Andrew Ladd (LTIR/knee) on waivers for the purpose of re-assigning him to Bridgeport (AHL).
