Islanders Make 1st Waiver Dump; Varlamov Still Out

The New York Islanders made their first waivers dump of the season, with no surprises and very likely no players that other teams will claim:

  • Austin Czarnik
  • Grant Hutton
  • Otto Koivula
  • Paul LaDue
  • Dmytro Timashov
  • Mitchell Vande Sompel
  • Parker Wotherspoon

That’s some AHL vets at forward, some overripe defensive prospects, the still sort of young-ish Koivula (who turned 23 this month) and 25-year-old Timashov, who has the most NHL experience of the group at 45 games. All are ultimately ticketed for the AHL, unless one is claimed or an injury scourge arrives.
