Islanders looking forward to four-game road trip

DENVER — As much as the Islanders have enjoyed their regular-season return to NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum for the first time since 2015, they’re looking forward to getting away from home for an extended trip.

“It might be good for us to be on the road a little bit,” coach Barry Trotz said. “We’ve been in the New York area for quite a while.”

The Islanders open a four-game road trip that will take them into their Christmas break and through the NHL roster freeze that begins on Wednesday when they face the Avalanche on Monday night at Pepsi Center.
