In yesterday’s loss to the Washington Capitals, the New York Islanders featured two former first-round picks playing together on the same line. Kieffer Bellows (19th overall in 2016) and Oliver Wahlstrom (11th overall in 2018) flanked Jean-Gabriel Pageau on the Isles third line.
Both will hopefully become assets for this club who’s in dire need of cheap and effective players that can add some offense. Both are still on ELC’s (Bellows’s contract expires this year) so the test for both is to see if they can be effective and provide offense.
