Islanders' Josh Bailey moves on from failure to score on breakaway

When you lose a game 1-0, as the Islanders did Friday in overtime in the opener of their second-round playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes at Barclays Center, it’s a reality that any one moment could have changed the game and reversed the result.

One of those key moments came with 6:02 left in the first period when Josh Bailey found himself flying over the blue line on a breakaway against Carolina goalie Petr Mrazek. Bailey went to his backhand and lifted a shot that Mrazek picked out of the air with his glove. It was an important point in the game because the Islanders, after a sluggish start, were dominating play at the time.
