When the Islanders traded for JG Pageau, he was quick to agree to a new contract with the team accepting the first offer.
This year, Lou Lamoriello did not “stand pat” at the trade deadline. Instead, he offered up a first and second-round pick to Ottawa in exchange for JG Pageau. Shortly thereafter, Lamoriello signed Pageau to a new contract to remain with the Islanders.
Pager signed for six-year $30 million ($5 million AAV). Lou locked up the third line center long-term and it ended up being the first offer that Pageau received according to the French-Canadian Center.
