Islanders Drop To Second Wild Card In Eastern Conference

After a hot start, including a 17 game point streak that put them in second place in the Metropolitan, the New York Islanders have now dropped to the second wild card spot in the East.

Please spare me the games in hand argument. Yes, the Islanders have three fewer games than Columbus and Philadelphia but the tricky part about games in hand is you actually have to win those games.

The Islanders are 4-3-3 in their last 10 while Philly is posting a 7-2-1 record and Columbus is 8-1-1. Both of those teams can't stop winning while the Isles are in the midst of a plummet.
