Well, it started pretty well for the New York Islanders in Vancouver. They jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to Andrew Ladd but that quickly fell. Adam Gaudette and Tyler Toffoli would add goals in the first 2:41 of the period to give Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
Before the end of the period, Jordan Eberle found the back of the net on a backhander. At the end of one, it was all tied up at two goals apiece.
In the second, Zack MacEwen scored 2:14 into the period, again a quick goal, giving the Canucks the lead once again.
