Defenseman Devon Toews and left wing Kieffer Bellows are starting to stand out among the young prospects competing for a roster spot with the Islanders.
At the very least, both have shown a comfort level in the NHL preseason.
“They look really good,” veteran left wing Anders Lee said. “Every game you can just tell they’re settling in. The speed of this game is definitely a step. 'Toewser' doesn’t have to worry about that and Kieffer is picking it up extremely well.”
Both made solid contributions in the Islanders’ 2-0 win over the Devils on Thursday night a Barclays Center.
