I'll always remember the day that my father told me he was getting Islanders season tickets. It was back in 2000, I was ten years old and just growing up. I grew up playing soccer, baseball, and basketball. I had no idea about hockey or the New York Islanders for that matter, all I knew was they were not good.
I said to my dad, "Why the Islanders out of any team?" His response was "They're the closest team and it's good for business, and they just signed Alexei Yashin and Michael Peca".
