Islanders Allow 8 Goals For First Time In 3 Years

March 13, 2017 was the last time the New York Islanders allowed eight goals in a game. They nearly made it three years without doing that, and it's not something that Barry Trotz hopes happens again anytime soon.

In 2017, Doug Weight took over for Jack Capuano so this was during the Dougie Blowout era. After the first period, the game was tied 2-2 with goals from Ryan Strome and Stephen Gionta (wow, times have changed).

Calvin de Haan gave the Islanders a 3-2 lead early in the second period, this sounds awfully familiar.
