Very rarely have the New York Islanders had an alternate jersey that I've enjoyed. Their first take on an alternate was the orange jerseys from the mid-2000s which I happen to like, but more for nostalgic reasons than the actual design.
They then advanced to what they wear now as an alternate. The "throwbacks" made their way back in 2008 and let's be honest, they were much better than what the Isles were wearing during those years as their regular jerseys.
In 2011, the Isles experimented with black alternates. I don't hate the idea of black uni's if done right but these were an absolute trainwreck.
