The New York Islanders find themselves in a unique situation after losing their captain Anders Lee. Lee went to LTIR after an injury suffered against the New Jersey Devils which most likely means that he’s done for at minimum the regular season.
Moving Lee to LTIR gives the Islanders $5.54 million in cap space to play with if they so choose to do so.
