Barry Trotz is interested to see how his Islanders respond against the Hurricanes on Tuesday night at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum.
The Islanders extended their winning streak to a season-high six games with Saturday night’s 4-3 win at St. Louis, but the coach called the sub-par performance both a “red flag” and a “wake-up call.”
“We know we have to be better,” Trotz said. “I’m interested to see how we respond. We know we had a clunker. We were fortunate to come out of it. Hopefully we respond the right way against a good Carolina team that is trying to catch us.
