Everybody chips in for Islanders in chippy Game 3 win over Lightning

It was a game the Islanders had to have, and they got it the way they often do: From a broad cast of characters.

The Islanders still have a chance in the Stanley Cup playoffs after a 5-3 victory over the Lightning on Friday night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, and the scoresheet helps tell the story of how it happened.

Their first three goals were scored by three different players, and six different players recorded assists on those three goals.

Adam Pelech became the 17th Islander to score a goal in this postseason, their most since they had 18 in 1983, when they won their fourth Cup.
