The pre-season is in the books, and New York Islanders forward Emil Heineman showed fans on Long Island and his new teammates what he's capable of doing this season. The 23-year-old forward, acquired in the trade that sent Noah Dobson to Montreal, said he’s settling into his new surroundings and gaining confidence with every skate.
“Day by day, it’s been step by step,” Heineman said. “It’s a good feeling moving into the start here, and I’m excited. For me, I’m just trying to have a complete game. Trying to be useful all over the ice and when the time comes, I would like to be able to put the puck in the net.
