The 4 Nations Face-off earlier this year brought back the excitement of international best-on-best hockey. The tournament captivated the sporting world, drawing in viewers who may not have been fans previously.
That excitement will continue with NHL players returning to the Olympics in February. But we won't need to wait four more years to see high-caliber international hockey again, as the NHL announced the 2028 World Cup of Hockey.
Though the tournament is still more than two and a half years away, the bidding process has already begun for the two host cities. With eight teams participating, one host city will be in North America while the other will be in Europe.
