PHILADELPHIA — A three-game road trip and a five-game stretch against Metropolitan Division opponents opened with a methodical victory over a lost opponent.
The Islanders topped the struggling Flyers, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at Wells Fargo Center.
Robin Lehner, in his fourth straight start, made 22 saves for the Islanders (4-4-1), who had lost their previous two games. Brock Nelson had two goals for the Islanders and captain Anders Lee had a goal and three assists.
Thomas Greiss is expected to start on Sunday at Carolina, where he made 45 saves in the Islanders’ season-opening 2-1 overtime win over the Hurricanes on Oct.
