The biggest moment in the Giants’ first Super Bowl run under Tom Coughlin back in 2007 didn’t come in Super Bowl XLII. It came when the Giants were 0-2, with an underachieving offense and a battered defense, in a must-win game against Washington. It was a fourth-quarter, goal-line stand that saved that Week 3 win.
It also saved their season. It may have even saved Coughlin’s job. And it was the moment that changed everything for the Giants and kick-started their championship run.
Now here they are again, eight years later, in an eerily similar situation. They are 0-2 and getting ready to face Washington again.
