Linebacker Uani Unga has been waived by the New York Giants, according to a notice on the NFL’s official transactions page.
Unga, who went undrafted out of BYU after suffering a serious knee injury, made the Giants roster in 2015. He played in 13 games, starting three, getting a larger than anticipated role because of an injury to Jon Beason. He had 59 tackles, two interceptions, four passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.
Unga was waived/injured by the Giants prior to last season. When he went unclaimed, he reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.
