Tony Romo says Eli Manning can still play but he just needs more help around him

Tony Romo is only 8 1/2 months younger than Eli Manning, and he already is two seasons into his new career as CBS’ lead game analyst. But he believes there still is football life left in his fellow 38-year-old, under the right conditions.

“I think Eli can still play,” Romo said of the Giants quarterback, whose future with the team is uncertain, during an event in Manhattan to promote CBS’ coverage of Super Bowl LIII.

“But I think Eli’s not that different from a lot of quarterbacks as you get older. Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl in Denver and he wasn’t playing at the same level as he was when he was in his Colts prime, when he was darn near unbeatable for so many years.
