The decision that drew the particular ire of fans and social media observers was passing on first-and-goal from the 5 with 2:06 remaining instead of running the ball and forcing the Patriots to use their final timeout.
"They've got six defensive linemen in the game, they've got a timeout, they've got the two-minute warning," Coughlin said. "If you calculate it, if you run the ball there, you're going to have maybe one play in which you're trying to score.
