HOUSTON — So, what did Chad Wheeler learn after his first start of the season, a start that produced the first victory for the Giants?
“I learned to not to lean forward,” Wheeler said, smiling. “I learned if you prepare and work hard during the week it gives you a shot against anybody in the league.’’
It was far from perfect, but Wheeler and the Giants survived a three-sack onslaught by J.J. Watt in a 27-22 victory Sunday over the Texans. At long last, coach Pat Shurmur gave Giants fans what they have been asking for the past few years.
