The Giants’ search for Ereck Flowers trade ends predictably

The ninth-overall pick in 2015 could not fetch a seventh-round pick in 2018.

The Giants waived Ereck Flowers on Tuesday, as their search to try to recoup anything for the draft bust ended predictably.

The Giants signed tackle Brian Mihalik off their practice squad to take Flowers’ roster spot.

Flowers, who went from left tackle to right tackle to benched, now can seek employment elsewhere. Chad Wheeler replaced him after two games this season, and Flowers’ split from the Giants is now official.

“I think it just kind of run its course,’’ coach Pat Shurmur said Monday.
