The decision facing Giants after Saquon Barkley’s ‘good day’

Two more practices down seemingly without incident, and the Giants remain optimistic about Saquon Barkley and his imminent return from his hamstring injury.

The running back Big Blue took with the No. 2-overall selection in the draft practiced Sunday and then again in the soggy heat of Monday, with first-year head coach Pat Shurmur liking what he saw.

“He had a good day,” Shurmur said. “He’s been practicing. Practiced well [Sunday] and [Monday]. He looked good.”

Barkley made his first return to practice Wednesday, but did not play in Friday’s 22-16 preseason win over the Jets.
