Police are searching for a group of Iranian teenage girls who posted a TikTok video of themselves dancing to a Selena Gomez song.

A video of five teenage girls dancing without headscarves in front of tower blocks in western Tehran to Selena Gomez and Rema’s “Calm Down” is garnering significant momentum online.

Iranian Authorities Disapproved

The song was made available for download on Wednesday, March 8 International Women’s Day. According to Iranian-Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari, the video would be deemed commonplace in most cities around the globe, but in Iran, “it is an act of defiance.
