The Atlanta Falcons announced on Monday that they’ve waived former first round pick, defensive end Takkarist McKinley.
McKinley was playing out the final year of his rookie deal and aired his frustration with the organization not deciding to trade him prior to last week’s deadline so they clearly felt like releasing him was the best move.
With only 17.5 sacks since McKinleywas taken with the 25th overall pick in 2017 out of UCLA, he never lived up to the hype and it only made sense to move on from him with the fact that he was so unhappy, which I’m sure negatively affected the Falcons’ locker room.
