This was a scene that took place last year inside the lunchroom of the Giants practice facility: Robert Ayers, Jersey City native, in his first season with the Giants, the team he followed as a kid, and a seventh-year NFL defensive end, saw Michael Strahan sitting at a table.
It was there, in the lunchroom, where Ayers might have made his most aggressive tackle as a Giant.
“I got his autograph … and I wasn’t shy about it,’’ Ayers said Monday. “I went up to him like a fan and said, ‘I’m Robert Ayers. It’s always been a dream of mine to meet you.
