Remembering the greatest day in New York Giants history

Many readers may not have been born yet, but on that day, the New York Giants won Super Bowl XXI over the Denver Broncos by a score of 39-20. Big Blue quarterback Phil Simms was awarded the MVP trophy, having accomplished what still may be the greatest single-game performance in the history of the big game.

The New York Giants were on a mission in 1986, having been humiliated in the playoffs by the Chicago Bears 21-0 the previous season. Big Blue was led by linebackers Harry Carson and Lawrence Taylor, running back Joe Morris, tight end Mark Bavaro and of course, Simms.
