Olivier Vernon carted off from Giants practice | Injury updates

Giants outside linebacker Olivier Vernon was carted off from practice Sunday, with what appears to be an ankle injury.

"He just kind of went inside the block, and got his feet tangled up and I think it's his ankle," Giants head coach Pat Shurmur said after practice. "He's being evaluated right now."

Vernon is among the Giants' best defensive players, and is being counted on to be pivotal to the pass-rush as he moves from defensive end to pass-rushing outside linebacker.

Vernon has already picked up a sack against the Detroit Lions this preseason, and consistently has been one of the best players each day in practice.
