The New York Jets have signed quarterback Davis Webb to their practice squad, two days after he was released by the New York Giants.
Brian Costello of the New York Post was the first to report the signing.
Webb, 23, was the Giants’ third-round pick, 87th overall, in the 2017 draft, posting strong numbers at both Texas Tech and Cal-Berkley. The highest selection of a quarterback by the Giants since Eli Manning took over in 2004, some viewed Webb as the eventual heir to the Giants’ quarterback throne.
