New York Giants WR Darius Slayton ‘really close’ to returning (Report)

In July, New York Giants rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton suffered a minor hamstring injury. The team was optimistic that it wouldn’t be too serious, but Slayton has been limited ever since and hasn’t played in a preseason game yet.

Slayton, a fifth-round pick out of Auburn University, could’ve gotten a ton of first-team reps due to the other setbacks to the Giants wide receiver room. He hasn’t been able to due to the injury. However, Dan Salomone of the Giants official website reports the rookie could return soon.

Shurmur says WR Darius Slayton is getting really, really close but “we’ll see” if he plays Thursday night.
