New York Giants Rumors: Will a fullback get rostered in 2017?

Coming out of preseason, the New York Giants chose not to roster a fullback. The previous season, Nikita Whitlock played the role and was also a pass rushing specialist. Since Whitlock was injured, and suspended for an NFL PED violation, the G-Men decided to forgo the position entirely. Last season, general manager Jerry Reese indicated that the fullback position was a luxury item.

According to Giants.com, Reese said, “The thought was, ‘Why carry a fullback if he is only going to play five plays a game? But, we will look into that as we move forward and see if that is something that we need to have’.
