After being waived on Tuesday to make room for defensive tackle John Jenkins, former New York Giants defensive end Romeo Okwara has been claimed by the Detroit Lions.
Okwara, who was applauded by Pro Football Focus as the most “underutilized” Giant back in 2016, played in just six games last season due to a sprained MCL.
The Giants also waived undrafted rookie running back Robert Martin yesterday/today to make room for the addition of linebacker Nate Stupar.
