The New York Giants have announced that they have re-signed veteran quarterback Alex Tanney.
The Giants signed Tanney as a part of their 2018 free agency period to be a veteran presence and another arm to keep Eli Manning from being over-worked in the run-up to the 2018 season. Ultimately, the Giants opted to release second-year quarterback Davis Webb and Tanney spent most of 2019 as Eli Manning’s primary back-up.
Tanney took a step down the depth chart as the Giants sought to get a look at rookie QB Kyle Lauletta, but retook his job by the end of the season.
