New York Giants news, 11/4 – Leonard Williams extension is coming, Sterling Shepard to miss year?

When New York Giants receiver Sterling Shepard was initially ruled out with his second concussion of the season in week six, most figured he would be sidelined for a minimum of three weeks. His expected return this week came after several weeks of non-contact practices and individual drills.

On Saturday, though, he reported that he felt ill, which send him back into the concussion protocol, putting the remainder of his season in jeopardy. Shepard will not miss week nine and could be out for an extended period. Long-term health is the priority with the Giants’ best receiver.

At 2-6 on the season, the Giants don’t need to risk the health of Shepard and a potential third concussion.
