New York Giants lose key special team’s player to non-contact injury

The New York Giants managed to escape the second day of padded practices without a significant number of injuries, but one critical special-teams player did go down with a non-contact injury. Wide receiver and gunner Cody Core tore his Achilles and will miss the entire 2020 season.

Core, who is reserve receiver, only enjoyed five targets in 2019, tallying 28 yards. His best season came in 2016 with the Cincinnati Bengals, when he hauled in 17 receptions for 200 yards.

Giants WR Cody Core is believed to have torn his Achilles, per source.
