New York Giants: Golden Tate, Nate Solder Likely To Be Retained

According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, he doesn’t expect the New York Giants to release offensive lineman Nate Solder or wide receiver Golden Tate.

Some have wondered about Solder and Tate’s future due to their high salary cap numbers.

The Giants would save $6.5 million by releasing Solder and $3.4 million by releasing Tate.

But Solder would take on a dead cap penalty of $13 million and Tate would take on a dead cap penalty of $7.1 million.

While Solder hasn’t lived up to his contract, Tate was third among wide receivers in Yards After Catch Above Expectation in 2019.
