According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, the New York Giants have signed running back Robert Martin to the practice squad.
RB Robert Martin, who was cut yesterday, has cleared waivers and will sign with the Giants’ practice squad, per source.
Martin, an undrafted rookie from Rutgers, was waived by the Giants a few days ago to make room for linebacker Nate Stupar.
The rookie averaged over six yards per carry on 15 rushing attempts during the preseason.
With Jonathan Stewart impressing nobody so far in his Giants career, adding a young back like Martin isn’t much of a shock.
