New Giants offense is putting Eli Manning’s legs on display

Eli Manning will never pick up the nickname “Crazy Legs,” but he is going to have to move around more in coach Pat Shurmur’s offense than he has in past systems. Manning put his 37-year-old legs on display in Friday night’s 22-16 preseason victory over the Jets, running a few bootlegs and sprint-outs, moving the pocket.

“I believe every quarterback needs to use his legs to some degree,” Shurmur said Saturday. “And I do believe you have to move the launch point for the throws, which sometimes means play-action game or moving the pocket. I believe in that and I do believe any quarterback can do it to some degree.
